Museum Getaway

I  love museums! I can't see how anyone can't? Maybe it depends where it's located and what kind of museum it is, but they're wonderful educational and inspirational places! Do I sound like a total nerd right now? If so, I don't care. :) About late September I can't really remember when? My good friend Edlin invited me to Los Angeles County's Natural History Museum, since her boyfriend, who's my friend too, Frankie works there, so we get in free! I didn't hesitate at all! It's one of my very favorite places and I haven't been there in years! Since we left at little late from class and it's about 5- 10 minutes on the bus, the trip wasn't that long but we didn't get a chance to see everything. Just another excuse to go back! And after we treated are selves to some delicious frozen yogurt! Ahh good times with great friends!

My favorite area in the whole museum the dome with the statue of the "Three Muses"! To be in the center of that room is breathtaking, so beautiful and detailed it's like going back in time!

The busy crowd at 21 Choices located across the street from USC. It's a really great Frozen Yogurt shop, with other locations in Old Town Pasadena and Claremont. The flavors change every week at the different locations, plus you get to sample them and "build" your own yogurt sundae, for a cheap price! Thanks to my friends Edlin and Frankie I'm now a fan of 21 choices and I can't wait till we make are next yogurt run!

My small cup of Honey & Snickerdoodle Yogurt mixed in with crushed almonds, yum! If your wondering why there are two spoons covered in lipstick, both are mine one's from a sample tasting. lol

I encourage everyone to visit the LA County Museum of Natural History, not only is it a educational and fun place but a Historical and Cinematic landmark!! It's also located next to a ton of other museums, the historic Los Angeles Sports Arena and the lovely Rose Garden in Exposition Park! Plus there are always a ton of events going on that are open to the public, or museum members. You can even host a party, event, sleepover or wedding there!!

Scary Situation

So Today was just like any other day or at least that's how I thought It would be. I never in a million years thought something like this would happen to me, but today while going to my internship standing merely about 10 feet away front he building I was hit by car. Shocking I know! I'm alright, thankfully. As soon as I was struck I got up in seconds as I hit the hood of the car and picked myself up from the street. I confronted the driver and we exchanged information. I hate to admit this but I think I was more worried for the driver and surrounding people affected by are dispute, because I let her (the driver) off real easy. She was very shaken up, and I was just like Wow, Victoria you just got hit by a car. I should've called the authorities and the paramedics but I said It wasn't that serious. So soon after I went to my internship, than school, than finally broke the news to my parents. They were about to have a meltdown, so I ended up spending the rest of the day at the Emergency getting checked and taking X- Rays. Nothing to worry about all I have is some soreness and aching and some big bruises. I definitely need to be more careful next time, even though I was looking both ways and totally aware of my surroundings. Everyone should regardless if they're a pedestrian or driver. Stay safe everyone!

The closest reenactment to my accident would be like this scene from the film "Pineapple Express" ( a favorite movie of mind, but let it be known I've never smoked funny cigarettes in my life) minus the red slushies and hitting the windshield, but I did hit the hood and it was in an alley way. All I can say is sometimes we have to laugh at ourselves in scary situations, it's like an accepting process I think.

Adrian Lecture and "The Women" at the Egyptian Theatre Review

My outfit for the night, nothing really fancy at all just a sweater top, cardigan, skirt and heels with my vintage purse.

Rosalind Russell as "Sylvia Fowler" in The Women. Since seen the film and the lecture I've become obsessed with this outfit and Sylvia's entire wardrobe in the film! But this outfit in particular, I got to see a color photo during the lecture and the blouse was bright green and the hat had black netting with various pink and purple flowers!! I was drooling! I've also become a Rosalind Russell fan! She was absolutely hilarious!! Sylvia was probably my very favorite!!

Adrian and Rosalind (in another outfit from the film which is absolutely adorable! oh and I think Adrian is a very very handsome man!! They use to cal him the Gregory Peck of  Fashion Designers lol) I learned so much about Adrian, his style, designs, his collaborations and even how Surrealism and Art Deco influenced everything! They even talked about Dali and Schiaparelli, my other loves!! I can go on and on! Even though I was alone, but bumped into a few familiar faces it was a great night!!

I recommend anyone to see this film, It's the chick flick of chick flicks!! The original!! Hilarious, touching, glamourous and fabulous! Waaay better than the chick flicks of today. No way is the remake  better or even close to this! Don't even bother watching that!! This was in a way I guess the very first "Sex and the City"! I absolutely adore Adrian and this film and the actresses so much more! I think it will go on my list of favorite films! Oh and one very big tip the fashion in this film is TO DIE FOR!!! that's all I need to say!

Wings, Wheels & Rotors October 2010

Every year for the past about 4 years My brother has gone to the Wheels, Wings, and Rotors expo in Los Alamitos. Mainly too check out the Fire Trucks and such, since he loves that kind of a thing. But I'd have too say this is my favorite one so far! They actually brought back the WWII Planes and had them fly, not only that but the had WWII re enactors!!!! And they were the Airborne division!!! Me and my brother Angel were thrilled! We're both big WWWII fans, we love the history and I love the US Military during WWII, and the fact that these guys are Fly Boys even better! The Air force is my favorite Branch (even though during the 40s' it was considered part of the Army). It was such a great photo op I couldn't resist!! In fact while being so enthralled with these WWII re enactors I struck up a conversation with one of their younger guys and turns out we have some of the same friends in the Vintage Community! We talked about history, music, Vintage clothes, the Vintage scene and of course the whole re enacting infantry. And guess what?? Me and my brother might just become part of their infantry as WWII re enactors!! I'll get to be a WAC!! So my brother and I are crossing are fingers and waiting anxiously for a reply, I can't wait! Thank you Wheels, Wings and Rotors! And thanks to my brother Angel for wanting to go!
