Depeche Mode 2013

Yes yes yes!! I'm soo soo soo excited DM is back with a new album and a new tour on it's way!! You can't believe how effing excited I am! *"I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough"*

I missed the last tour so I'm definetly prepared for this one!

Last tour I missed out so I vowed I will see them upfront and personal at least once! I'll be attending both LA and maybe one in San Diego I'm hoping they'll add a Anaheim or Las Vegas show too.

 Plus there album is better than ever!!

The album is set to release this upcoming tuesday March 26th, 2013 and though I've heard a few new songs I'm waiting until I actually have the album in my hands which by my lucky stars I won in a KROQ radio contest!! I'm loving the bluesy sound and heavy draggy synths, it defiantly has a throwback feel to their Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion albums. So far I've heard these songs and they're my favorite, especially "Should Be Higher".

Not only is the album coming out including ticket sale dates there are a ton of DM/Strangelove Parties to attend too!

I'll  be here early, dressed in leather and black and ready to party!

I wish I could be here this night, but I'll be in Las Vegas for a Rockabilly Festival.

Happy Birthday Violator

Depeche Mode's Violator album turns 23 today!!

Arguably the most popular DM album ever and probably my very favorite album of theirs, Depeche Mode's Violator was released 23 years ago today. This was the first album in which I first heard and discovered DM and it also holds some of my very favorite DM songs (Blue Dress, Enjoy The Silence, Waiting For The Night and their B-sides Happiest Girl, Sea of Sin & Dangerous). I hold this album very near and dear to me because I feel a special connection with it, the month of it's release I was conceived, I was born a day after the single for WFTN and we arrived the same year! I've been saying for years how I want the rose tattooed on me, but I've yet to still do it. I love the artwork and imagery artist Anton Corbijn created it represents a lot for me. I've even had my 20th birthday party themed Violator and I even created a dress for my school fashion show in 2011 inspired by "Personal Jesus" and Depeche Mode!

Dita Von Teese: Strip Strip Hooray!

 

Last February I notified all of you that I would be attending my first performance of the Dita Von Teese: Strip Strip Hooray show! Well I attended with my very good friend Johnny, but we ended up showing fashionably late and missed the whole show except for the grand finale and we were kind of a distance from the stage. However we partied till 4 am at a Goth Drag show at nearby gay bar and a friends hotel room party! Great Times! I have a few pics from that night below.

This year my brother and I attended the show and we made sure not to miss it!
 It was nothing but magical and amazing! Glitter, Glamour and Boobs everywhere!! haha
I finally got a chance to see Duke LaFayette and Dirty Martini! Both are show stoppers! And that Murray Hill, hilarious!! I had the chance to see Perle Noire before at Viva Las Vegas Burlesque Showcase, she's amazing! This time we were right upfront, but I didn't take any photos though it was tempting.

This year I made sure to go with a Red theme since Valentine's Day was that week. I designed and made my floral fascinator myself using vintage netting, I wore my beaded gloves that are from Forever 21, my black velvet thrifted dress, black backseam stocking, printed patent leather clutch and of course my vintage fox fur stole! I always do high glamour for Dita!

I even tweeted about it and she favourited it! Aww so sweet!

 2012 Strip Strip Hooray Show

The first time I wore my vintage fox fur stole that night (and the drag queens went crazy for it!) My favorite vintage 1940's hat (which happens to be liked by Dita she complemented me on it when we first met in 2009), vintage jewels the brooch I bought at Viva as a wardrobe fixer upper. I paired it with sheer black gloves and my black velvet vintage suit jacket and slinky dress with nude & black backseam stockings.

Somehow my lucky stars were aligned and I got myself orchestra tickets to this intimate show, following right after Moz plays the Staples Center.

I think I'm going to dress in a totally retro teeny bopper vibe for this show, it seems appropriate.

 I just hope I don't get trampled on!

Call it 'Victoria Vends Vintage Part 2'! I'll be vending my own vintage and reproduction clothing for women and men here at this really cool shop along with friends this saturday! Everything from the early 20th century, along with food vendors and live band! Different sizes and styles to choose from, meet new people and have a great time! There's even a fashion show from 12:30 pm - 1:30pm!

Morrissey is back in town! The original show was scheduled back last November with Iggy & The Stooges. However due to Moz's momma being sick he rescheduled and we're left with no Iggy and lame Patti Smith! (Ugh, I'm not really a PS fan sorry) So I think all of Los Angeles will be crammed into Staples Center this night as well as be roaming the streets of LA for the after parties.

That same night some friends of mine are throwing a grand opening party for their vintage clothing shop Vintage Vortex! I don't think I'll be able to attend due to the Morrissey show, but if you love vintage and grilled cheese (The Famous Grilled Cheese Truck will be there!) be sure to stop by!

Never fear 333 Live in Downtown LA is having an DM dance party with ultimate DM tribute Strangelove, including a DJ set by Strangelove's Devotional Dave!! I'd really love to attend this night especially at one of my favorite venues with my favorite guys, but I'll be in Vegas that night.

Hello! I'm Still Here!

Hello 2013 and Hello lovely people and readers out there!!

I'm still alive and I haven't gone anywhere! I've just been incredibly busy...and or lazy too. Plus I'm having major technical difficulties, my computer is on it's last limbs. But I definitely want to update you on what's been going on! So so much!! Last year was a hell of a year for me and I have so much to share! Love, Loss, Success, Learning.. all having it's crazy ups and downs, opportunities and fun things. This year is turning out to be an interesting one with new opportunities arising, plus soo many cool events have happened that I haven't had a chance to share with you! Never fear though, I will try my best to post about all the really cool ones that haven't happened yet!

So even though It's been a whole year since posting and I'm introducing myself back already a month after the new year began I hope you will continue to follow with me on my crazy, retro, kooky adventure in life with me!
