Dita Von Teese: Strip Strip Hooray!

Last February I notified all of you that I would be attending my first performance of the Dita Von Teese: Strip Strip Hooray show! Well I attended with my very good friend Johnny, but we ended up showing fashionably late and missed the whole show except for the grand finale and we were kind of a distance from the stage. However we partied till 4 am at a Goth Drag show at nearby gay bar and a friends hotel room party! Great Times! I have a few pics from that night below.
~~~~~~
This year my brother and I attended the show and we made sure not to miss it!
 It was nothing but magical and amazing! Glitter, Glamour and Boobs everywhere!! haha
I finally got a chance to see Duke LaFayette and Dirty Martini! Both are show stoppers! And that Murray Hill, hilarious!! I had the chance to see Perle Noire before at Viva Las Vegas Burlesque Showcase, she's amazing! This time we were right upfront, but I didn't take any photos though it was tempting.
 2013 Strip Strip Hooray Show
This year I made sure to go with a Red theme since Valentine's Day was that week. I designed and made my floral fascinator myself using vintage netting, I wore my beaded gloves that are from Forever 21, my black velvet thrifted dress, black backseam stocking, printed patent leather clutch and of course my vintage fox fur stole! I always do high glamour for Dita!
I even tweeted about it and she favourited it! Aww so sweet!
A picture of my brother Angel and I at home after the show.
He wore my Dita Von Teese Bottle Cap pin I Made using an image of Dita I found online
and there's a closer pic of my floral fascinator.
 2012 Strip Strip Hooray Show
The first time I wore my vintage fox fur stole that night (and the drag queens went crazy for it!) My favorite vintage 1940's hat (which happens to be liked by Dita she complemented me on it when we first met in 2009), vintage jewels the brooch I bought at Viva as a wardrobe fixer upper. I paired it with sheer black gloves and my black velvet vintage suit jacket and slinky dress with nude & black backseam stockings.
These are some photos I snapped at the show that year
( Since I arrived so late I had no idea we couldn't take pics but I didn't get in trouble)
Here's a pic from that goth drag show I went to afterwards! So much fun!
If anyone gets a chance be sure to check out this fun, amazing, hilarious, glamourous, magical and inspirational show! It makes me want to undress to nothing but glittery pasties!
Maybe one day.
Thank you Dita for putting on such a great show & being such an inspiration!
Cheap and Chic
Check out my latest thrift shopping & sales rack finds!
I recently went on a little trip by myself a week before the holidays to my usual thrift store, but for some reason it was closed that day. So I decided to stop by this Goodwill around the block, I usually don't like anything they have and most of the time the stuff is just junk. But I found some good stuff surprisingly!
Chinese Parasol $5
I've been needing a new one, and this one is lovely and it's practically unused!
Plastic Colorful Earrings $1
I saw them and they seemed very Carmen Miranda and you know if it's anything to do with Carmen I love it!!
1950's Vintage Black Saucer Hat $5
At first I saw it sitting on a shelf and thought nothing of it, but I then  realized it was a black vintage saucer hat!! I had to have it! It was a total steal!
1950's Cha -Cha & Mambo Record . 50 cents
Boy I was happy to find this! I love older cha-cha and mambos and the fact that it has some of my favorite songs even better!
~~~
 The day after christmas a ton of retailers were having huge sales. I went for what people called Mega Monday. I went with my brother only to one store H&M. He wanted these coats and I just tagged along and look what I ended up leaving with!

Black  Fringe Cocktail Dress $10

Mini Straw Fedora and Red Flower Hat $5

Oufits of 2010

Isn't this blog suppose to talk about fashion? Haha I haven't done that much or even put up an outfit post in a very long time! So like the inevitable procrastinator that I am, here are the past outfits (worthy of or ones that I only could snap photos) of 2010. Starting with the most recent (December 2010) to the oldest. I don't think I'll describe each one, I'll give a little snippet. But I can guarantee you that in every outfit there is something thrifted and vintage. All of these outfits are just my everyday work and school outfits, except the one taken at night that was for a small cocktail party. I'd have to say my favorite outfit of 2010 had to be the 10th photo, that was the most simplistic, comfortable and it could be dressed up and dressed down in an instant. Sorry for the very glamourous bathroom mirror photos, I hate having to ask someone to snap my photo, plus by the time I leave home my 'personal photographer' aka my brother has left for school.
Does my outfit look okay? haha

This dress used to be my mothers back in the late 1970's

With my coat

Without my coat

You can't tell but I'm wearing one of my favorite 1940's hats!

I was in a 1960's mood

Most likely my favorite outfit of 2010

My brother says "It looks like a luau exploded onto you." haha I love bright colors!

I've owned this blouse since the 5th grade; it fits much better now haha
